You may remember a few weeks ago I mentioned that I had something rather unique I was working on that I preferred (then) to not really let out because I didn’t want to jinx it. Well I suppose it’s safe now.
I thought recently to try my hand at some more challenging photography and so I reached out to a few regional publications. One of these publishers gave me a call and so I was able to shoot a few images for one of their feature articles this month.
I have to say, it was the most stressful shoots I’ve done. Mostly because of the fact there was a need for interior images which are something I’d never done. The portraits weren’t a big issue, except for the fact that I made a very very rookie mistake that I was able to fix in post after the fact (not ideal) and this mistake cost me the opportunity to have my first cover image as well.
You live, you learn. If I’d never made a mistake then I wouldn’t have learned some incredibly valuable lessons as a result of this shot.
One thing I do know, shooting tethered will be a must during my next shoot of this nature….fo sho.
Check out the images if you’d like in the October issue of Evansville Business Magazine and also pay a visit to Y Factor Studios as well. Great group of folks with some real talent to boot.
